The Design 100 exhibition maps out one decade of acquisitions at the Museum of Glass and Jewellery in the realm of contemporary design. Communication between curators and producers, dealers and designers is entirely fundamental when adding to the collection, with pieces then being bought and, in particular, gifts commonly being presented in permanent exhibitions, which are kept up-to-date as a result. The museum in Jablonec is therefore clearly not simply a place designed to document and present “that which was in the past”, but a bridge between the past and the present, where each of the pillars is just as important.
