Catalog for the international exhibition of contemporary art glass.
Contemporary art and design can be presented in many ways. In the ALONE TOGETHER exhibition, for which a catalog is also published, the museum decided not only to connect these creative areas, but also to choose individual objects according to a common theme. "The exhibited works talk about relationships between people, materials, shapes, techniques or colors. They were born on the basis of emotions, which they also transfer to the viewer - although they may not always be the same with which they were born. They were created by other artistic and craft means, with different intentions, different degrees of (auto)stylization, but always in specific life situations, in a unique time and space," she said about the concept of the exhibition, which features 28 creators of three generations from the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Poland and Slovakia, its curator Dagmar Havlíčková.
The spectacular scenography of the exhibition was created by Ricardo Hoineff, a glass artist himself, the graphic form is the work of David Matura. As a visual symbol of the exhibition, they chose the works of the giants of Czech glass, René Roubíček and Vladimír Kopecký from the museum collection. "This time we are exhibiting not only works from artists on loan, but also objects from depositories, which can be understood as another dimension of the topic ALONE TOGETHER," said the director of the museum, Milada Valečková. "The curator has given a lot of space to the current generation of artists and designers, some of whom we are exhibiting for the very first time," she added.
