Event in exhibition - Ondřej Strnadel

Ondřej Strnadel was born in 1979 in Valašské Meziříčí, where he still lives. He began to focus on glass at the local Secondary Glass School of Arts and Crafts. After a short study at the Faculty of Education at the Palacký University in Olomouc, he finished his studies at the Industrial Design Studio under the guidance of sculptor Pavel Škarka at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of the Tomáš Bata University in Zlín. Since 2000, Strnadel has been working as a teacher at SGSAC in Valašské Meziříčí and at FMC TBU in Zlín. He realized glass sculptures for important Czech glassartists, for example Vladimír Kopecky, Jiří Šuhájek and others. He enlivens his objects based primarily on the geometric shapes of a circle or an oval with refined deformations. Thanks to them, glass in its solid state still retains the magical charm of its hot, liquid soul.

The exhibition will last until April 14, 2024 and is located in a permanent Glass exposition.
