"Connected by Hands and Hearts" Glass Symposium
Twelve artists, 6 countries, 1 UNESCO entry, the very essence of an international glass symposium organised by our museum from 2 to 7 September. The project has been offered support by the National Recovery Plan, Mobility III programme, while patronage has been assumed by the international headquarters of UNESCO in Paris. Glassmakers from countries that have jointly registered handmade glass production on the UNESCO List of Intangible Heritage await two days of work in four Czech glassworks, a public seminar, and the official opening of an exhibition at Sýpka Lemberk, with their collective work culminating at the travelling furnace of the Florian Glasswork in Kristiánov as part of the local Glass Festival. The exhibition will be open to visitors at Sýpka Lemberk until 6 October and will also be an official part of the 15th Nový Bor IGS International Glass Symposium.
The artists will be accompanied by members of an official UNESCO Working Group established last year at the first gathering in Spain. They will attend an official meeting at the museum and become acquainted with glassmaking in the individual participating countries at a seminar.
